Wednesday in the Word

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

1 Peter 2:9-10

At this moment, I am in awe of the Word of God. I am in awe that there is such a thing as the Word of God. I mean Word of GOD. God himself gave us his words. Not only that, he made us his people. His people. God gave his words to his people. He really loves us. He is truly glorious! And I am so glad that this person has the rest of his people to be his people with.

Putting things together

Tonight at dinner Mandie said, "Mommy, I love Jesus".

So I said, "Mandie, that is so wonderful. I am so glad that you love Jesus."

Then Mandie looked like she was thinking pretty hard and she said, " No, not Jesus. What's that girl's name, Mommy?"

"Oh, you mean Mary?"

"Yes, I love Mary, Mommy." she said.

I replied, "that's good honey, I'm glad you love Mary".

"Mommy, did Mary have a little lamb?"

I debated for a moment and then simply replied, "Yes, Mary did have a little lamb".

Isaiah 53:7~"He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before ther shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth."

Later tonight when I was tucking her into bed, Mandie wanted to read about Mary and Jesus. So I opened up her little Bible to the few pages about Mary and Jesus. There was a picture in there of the wise man looking at Jesus. Mandie pointed to the man and said, "Who is that, Mommy?".

I replied, "That is the wise man".

"Did he build his house upon the rock?"

Going to the big D, and I do mean Dallas

My Mom and I had a fabulous time in Dallas! Here are a few pics of us girls hanging out:

I love you Mom!

Guess What!

I am not a gardener.

However, I have spent the last several months glued to all of the gardening shows on HGTV and I have a real desire to get 'down and dirty'  . . . in the garden that is. About 2 weeks ago I planted pumpkins and watermelon in my yard and THEY ARE GROWING! I can't wait to put my own pumpkins on my porch this halloween!

When they get bigger I'll probably have to post a picture!

I want to do it Mommy!!!!!!!!

"Ok, honey . . . "

I love my little sprinkler!

I wish I had pictures of Matthew doing this. He ends up DRENCHED every time! And he gets so cold that he starts breathing short, hyper breaths, but Heaven help you if you try to take the water hose away from that boy!!

Official Easter Post!

I was looking back through my pictures today and I realized I had a bunch of fun Easter pictures and memories that needed to be blogged. So today, on May 15, I will be posting about Easter, of course!

Mandie eating some yummy M&M's:

Noah and Matthew . . . male bonding . . .
All the little cousins!
Mandie and Matthew's Easter baskets (Matthew's too little to realize that boxes of raisins aren't the good stuff )
Mandie had an Easter Egg hunt at Kid U. It was at the old-folks home across the street. Here are some pictures of her with her friends from school, Ellee and Brooklyn, and another Ellie. She was so excited to see all the eggs, but not really aggressive enough to get very many! Luckily all the eggs were equally distributed before anyone got to eat any candy.

This year Mandie and I did Easter Eggs for the first time! She was quite the little scientist. She got to wear one of Luke's old undershirts as a smock, and she got to mix the water into the colors. She colored some of the eggs with crayons, and she put rubber bands around some (with a little help from me), and stickers, too. It was a ball!
